Public involvement
SRP is seeking public comment and input throughout the permitting process. Milestones are:
- Project announcement in summer of 2008.
- Second phase of public involvement in fall 2008.
- Share details of the filing for a siting certification request from the Arizona Corporation Commission (ACC) in early 2009.
- The ACC siting certification public process will again allow for discussion and public input through the first half of 2009.
Community Advisory Forum
An integral part of SRP's comprehensive public process is the Community Advisory Forum. We are inviting representatives from interested jurisdictions, community planners and other stakeholders to participate.
The next Forum meeting will be held in early 2009.
Public open houses
SRP hosted three public open houses in Pinal County communities in June 2008. Topics of discussion included the selected sites for new generating facilities, as well as needs and benefits of their development. View the June 2008 open house materials (7MB PDF).
